Meet Rodrigo Soto
The Huneeus family is pleased to announce Rodrigo Soto as Quintessa’s Estate Director. Born and raised in Chile, in many ways Rodrigo has been preparing for this role nearly all his life. His interest in wine began with a summer job at the age of 14, and after growing intrigued, decided to study agronomy in university. Rodrigo wrote his thesis on organic farming, and upon graduating, spent the next ten years back and forth between California and Chile, further expanding his knowledge in organics and biodynamics at properties such as Matetic winery in Chile and Bezinger Winery in the Russian River Valley.
In 2012, Rodrigo joined the Huneeus family as chief winemaker of our Chilean properties where he transformed the vineyards to deliver quality and sustainability, and in August of this year, Rodrigo came to Napa Valley to carry out the vision of Agustin and Valeria as the General Manager of Quintessa. Rodrigo believes that there is a tremendous opportunity in listening to the vineyard to realize its ultimate potential and looks forward to carrying the vision of Quintessa to the next generation.
